Detailsview itemupdating not firing

I have done a few searches and read a number of posts but I am still not successful trying to update a database without losing the data that is already saved.

I created the DB using this tutorial: In the new database I want to migrate data from a main table to a new table that will store the user's favourites. In the onupgrade function I tried renaming the table and inserting the record into the new table. I also tried saving the data to a cursor and then populating the new table but that didn't work.

The retrieved connection string is stored in a static variable for later use. It is shown in Listing 3: Listing 3: Insert() method of Photo Helper class The Insert() method uses Sql Command object's Execute Non Query() method to add a new photo record into the Photos table. The photo parameter that represents binary data is constructed with the Var Binary data type.

Say, for example, you have a column that stores URLs of product images. To work through this example, you will need a SQL Server database with a table named Photos. Table 2: Schema of Photos table Notice that you have used the varbinary(MAX) data type for Photo column instead of the traditional Image data type. You will now develop a web site that allows the users to add, modify, and delete individual records of the Photos table. If you wish, you can add a new database to its App_Data folder to create the Photos table. Listing 1: Properties of Photo class The Photo class has four public properties: Photo ID, Title, Description, and Photo Data.Form View and Details View controls are quite similar, but differ in the way they lay out their outputs.Form View permits complete control over the layout and enables easy creation of custom forms with controls to display and edit fields.
